Fantasy Football Roundtable

I do my fantasy football every year with several guys and mostly from the online group orangemane.com, This year, several friends and family teamed up to do a live draft and have a local league.This was going to be a beginner league with  girls and first timers.

Ever since watching the “whozyamoma” fantasy football commercial, I’ve wanted to do a live draft. It was everything I thought it would be. We had good food, yelling, and laughing.

Mom visit number 3

The tour of moms concluded with Mary coming to visit. Summers Mom made her way out in June, my Mother in July, and my Mom^2 in August.

Just like all our other visits, we did the Colorado thing and went to ball games and went hiking.

The trip wasn’t all fun and games as Mary was here on some official business. My father passed away from complications of prostate cancer in March and she was coming back to Colorado to drop off some of his ashes. We spent some time on Sunday spreading some ashes around. It was kind of an emotional day, so Mary Summer and I did a little drinking that lead me to having a nasty hang over the next day.

I truly love Mary. It wasn’t easy for her to have come here. Just loosing her husband and to have come here and put on her game face for the benefit of my sister and I. I thank her for that.

Octoberfest Triathlon

I’ve finally signed up and I’m  an official member of USAT.  I had to be to an official Triathlete to participate in withoutlimits.com’s Oktoberfest triathlon at union reservoir.

I’m super stoked. So much so that I’m actually looking forward to running tonight.

Broncos go flyin.

Nick and I headed over to Broncos Team camp last night

I had called a head to the Broncos front office to see if it was ok to bring my DSLR with the lens that I wanted to bring. When I explained to the guy what it was that I was bringing, he put me on hold, came back and said that it was O.K. and other people had brought theirs without any trouble.

My intentions wasn’t to get play formations, but to get some good Broncos photography. I wanted to use the evening light to get some good helmet pictures.

This was the only picture I was able to get off before this midget camera Nazi told me that my camera was considered a “professional” camera.

The camp was fun,  Knowshon made a cool play. McDaniels set up a moc play scenario where the offense had the ball on the two-yard line with three seconds to go in the game, down five points. After a false start on the offense moved the unit back five yards, Orton dropped back, bought some time and fired the ball to Brandon Stokley for the score. Stokley spiked the ball, then Moreno came sprinting up behind him and standing jumped all the way over the 6-foot receiver before turning around and giving him a big pat on the helmet.

Highlands Ranch BBq

Old Friends, old books, and old wine improve with age.

It’s good to catch up with old friends, and Dawn goes way back to my purple hair days. We decided to swing by her and her husbands place for a wine tasting (ended up being beer tasting) and some food grilled up on the barby.

Grilled veggies, swordfish with pico, and some spicy chicken.

We had a great time. Nick let me taste his home made beer, and we watched Dawn do her Billy Mays impersonation with the Oxy Clean.

Guinness turns 21!

21 dog years today(3 years human). Our little pup was born. Guinness has been nothing but a pain in the ass for those 3 years, but we love him anyways.

I love when he waits for me to open my eyes in the morning, then pounces when he sees just the slightest bit of white in my eyes. The little shit lands on my boys every time. I love when I ask him if he wants to go on a hike he grabs any old sock he can find and prances around the house. I love that he goes to bed at 6pm every night. I love that he is a “princes and the pea” and hoards all the pillows. I especially love when, no mater what, he loves me.

Summer loves our dog so much that we have “birthday” parties for our dog. This year she even baked him a special birthday cake. His 3 favorite things, bacon, carrots, and peanut butter cake. With a peanut butter yogurt frosting.

Yum Yum!

We then headed over to Stanley lake after cake. Guinness’ favorite thing next to snow and Frisbee is water and Frisbee.

Guinness was so happy that he refused to leave. Even threw a temper tantrum when we left.
