Chilly Willy
Posted on 28. Dec, 2008 by Derrick.
We decided to try and find some new hiking spots here in the Rado. Took some advice from a co-worker, and went up to Indian peaks wilderness.
We went up to lost lake trail off of the hessie trail head
It was a bit chilly out with the high at 5 degrees and the windchill down to -20. But even Guinness trooperd threw it.
Guinness loved the snow so much he was in awe of it
It was cold, but we had fun!

Midsummers dream….
Posted on 12. Jul, 2008 by Derrick.
So since Summer and I have absolutly nothing to do, we traveled to Colorado to get out of the sun. There we met up with Kit and Annika, and decided to head up to Rocky Mountain National park.
There we hike Cub Trail up to Cub lake. This hike had about the most wildlife I’d seen in one hike. Elk, baby fawns, ducks, and finaly cute little ducklings. Click on the pic for more pics
I also made a video of my commute to work. Thought that some of you would like to see that. I guess.

The Green Desert
Posted on 26. Feb, 2008 by Derrick.
I decided mid day that I wanted to hit SoMo. Summer and I had been eating like crap for the last couple of days and I needed to do something with the dog. I swung by the our place and picked up the dog and met Summer at about 5:30 and we hit the trail.
South Mountain is green! It was so weird that we ended up taking a bunch of pics which added about 30 minutes to our hike. Guinness was off leash and I got to test out his new treat hip pocket holder thingy.
Anyways, here is our GPS route. We took Javelina to Ridgeline, and back on Beverly Canyon. Click the pic for a larger image
Till next time

Saturday morning Camelback Mountain
Posted on 16. Feb, 2008 by Derrick.
We decided to go hit Camel Back Mountain early in the morning. We woke up at 6:30am due to the dog jumping on us. He does that mostly on weekends because he knows he gets to go with us all day. We had a great time and took some photos on the way. Thanks to Kit, I bought a cool new little backpacking tripod that works awesome and we took plenty of pics.
The hike was fun for the fact that the top of camelback was completely covered in clouds. The clouds made for a beautiful backdrop, but dropped the temperature at the top by about 15 degrees.

We ended up staying up at the top just long enough to snap off a couple of pics and then headed back down to the bottom. We hustled and did the hike in record time for us.
Here is our gps route.

Colorado and Muffintop part deux
Posted on 13. Feb, 2008 by Derrick.
So we went to Colorado for an extended weekend and we had a blast. Hiking on Saturday was awesome, and we went up to Boulder falls and took some pictures. Then on Sunday we went with Kit and Annika up to Winterpark. Summer went snowboarding for the first time and got a lesson with some other newbs. The rest of us hit Maryjane and went up to what Annika and Kit call the “panoramic”. All I can say is AMAZING!
We have a bunch of videos of us riding, but I’m to lazy to upload them to youtube, so you all have to check my sisters blog for Kit’s magical videos(no pressure Kit). I also got to teach my sister how to snot rocket. Visit their page some day and she will give you a lesson.
The ONLY thing that sucked about our trip was that our flight was canceled and we had to fly the next morning. They also lost our luggage that I was forced to go pick it up the next day.
I also posted our pictures of our Muffin top progress. I think both of us were suprised on how much we lost. Because we both see each other and our selves each day its hard to gauge our progress but these pictures give me the confidence that we are doing something right.
I leave you with just one video, the Morse/Agudio/Franz family primal screem!
